GM Jacob Aagaard is a FIDE Senior Trainer, the co-founder of Quality Chess Books and winner of the British Championship in 2007 in his one and only attempt. He is the only chess writer in the world to win all four major Book of the Year awards: English Chess Federation (2010), ChessCafe.com (2001), Association of Chess Professionals (2013) and the Boleslavsky Medal from FIDE’s trainer committee (2012).
Best known as the personal coach of GM Sam Shankland but also the coach of the Indian Women Olympiad Team 2018, Aaagaard was recently appointed the Chairman of the FIDE Trainers’ Commission (2019-2022)
